This rural hamlet stands on the site of an ancient monastery of the Order of Minor Friars built in 1451 and completely demolished by a big earthquake in 1693 which has destroyed the ancient city of Noto. This site is characterized by a landscape of rare beauty as well as archaeological and historical relics.
