Former property of a herbalist-pharmacist family from Nardò, then of the Tafuri family who worked to restore it to all its splendor, the palace today belongs to Mr and Mrs d'Espous. Their passion for Italy, its culture, its gastronomy and its wines led them a few years ago to the town of Nardò and the acquisition of a prestigious palace in Salento. Two years of renovation and the work of skilled craftsmen and local artists were necessary to transform the palace into an intimate and refined luxury hotel.
With its delightful SPA characterized by a vertical garden, its elegant swimming pool, its jacuzzi and solarium located on the roof terrace, its perfect service, its gourmet restaurant and bar set up in the old stables, Palazzo Tafuri is a hidden gem. The restaurant proposes a refined and authentic cuisine on a half-board basis for guests of the hotel or à la carte menu. A fine list of regional and national wines accompanies the chef's proposals. One can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the roof top bar for a cocktail and admire the sunset over the town of Nardò.
The palace is located in the heart of the historic center of Nardò, a baroque town in southern Puglia rich in history and culture. Just 20km from Lecce and 7km from the beautiful beaches of the Ionian coast, Nardò enjoys an ideal location to visit the south of Puglia. In less than an hour, you will reach the towns of Lecce, Otranto, Galatina, Leuca, Gallipoli and Manduria. The charming seaside towns of Santa Maria a Bagno and Santa Caterina, and the Punta Prosciutto reserve will delight lovers of nature and relaxation. The hotel has a few parking spaces that one can book in advance. In case of unavailability, it is possible to park the car for free outside the historic center.

With their original vaults and frescoes, the suites and large suites are the most characteristic rooms of the hotel. On the walls, prints of plants dating from the 19th century by Karl Blossfeldt and beautiful pictures of Mediterranean plants made by a contemporary artist from Salento, Rocco Casaluci, remind us of the affinity that the current owners have with nature, Mme d'Espous being the president of the association of botanical parks in France.
16 rooms, each tastefully decorated in a contemporary style, distributed between the ground and upper floors, with a surface area ranging from 32m² to 80m², equipped with king or queen size beds, TV, wifi, safe, coffee/tea, fridge-bar, bathroom mostly with shower and bathtub, terrace or balcony overlooking the Monastery of Santa Chiara, the courtyard or the historic center. This boutique hotel is suitable for family stays. Suites and large suites with fully equipped kitchen or connecting rooms can accommodate families of 4 to 5 people.
