Located in the heart of the historic center of the town of Manduria, the property today belongs to the Arno' family, who after living for many years in France chose to return to their original lands and bring back to life the abandoned Palazzo. Built in 1881 in honor of the union between Countess Sabini da Altamura and the nobleman Don Tommaso Schiavoni-Tafuri, the palace saw the birth of the first bottle of Primitivo in its gardens thanks to the bride's dowry which contained certain strains of Primitivo.

The coastline, from Marina di Maruggio to the Monaci natural reserve, is punctuated by dunes and beautiful sandy beaches bordered by clear water. It is also less busy than the coast of Gallipoli.
